Dhows in Qatar were once crucial for trade and fishing but became old-fashioned due to oil. A restoration project aims to keep them in Gulf waters, aligning with Qatar's sustainability goals. This fits into the country's vision for a modern, eco-friendly society, even extending to green sailing vessels for sustainable tourism. Zara Habib, a 10-year-old, loves photography, using her phone to capture beauty and learn, inspired by exploration and discovering.

Over the years I've seen young Qataris and children from all over the world improve in leaps and bounds and this is partially due the British Council’s input. 

Elizabeth has taught children in West Africa, Italy, Dubai, England and Qatar. In Britain she trained as a professional teacher, gaining a PGCE and DELTA. She has worked for the British Council for over twenty years.

Ali Hassan Alkaabi, an eighth-grader at Awfaz Global School, is a  talented student. Not only is he skilled in football and chess, but he also possesses a strong passion and talent for photography. Ali captured this image that symbolises the essence of consuming less, and creating more.

After 10 years experience in sales and marketing, I decided to follow my heart and changed careers to become an English teacher. I have worked in Malta, Colombia and London delivering different courses, and have worked with a wide range of students from adults, professionals and young learners. I've CELTA and DELTA qualifications as well as a degree in EFL.  

I can safely say I love my job, and am very excited to be here in Qatar working with the British Council. "

Anya is in her final year as a Politics and International Relations student at the University of Bath. She uses her attentiveness for politics to use art as a form of visual activism and political campaign, creating works on the Civil Rights Movement and the Suffragettes.

Beatrice Garcia (b.1994) is a Gibraltar born, Amsterdam based fine artist and illustrator. She has a first class degree in Finance and combines her artistic skills with her finance mindset. She has created artworks for a variety of personal and corporate clients and her work has been exhibited internationally with exhibitions in Gibraltar, Madrid and London.

Welsh artist Bryce Davies, AKA Peaceful Progress, has been painting Graffiti and Aerosol Art murals for over 20 years. Bryce’s work focuses on creating large-scale murals of exceptional quality, and is one of the finest in his field. 

Welsh artist VOZIE has been specialising in portraits and commissioned artworks for the last ten years, most recently concentrating on larger scale aerosol murals. Focusing mainly on bold monochrome pattern or colourful graphic pieces, VOZIE thrives off creating bold artworks that uplift and inspire the public. 

Kholoud is one of Qatar’s most recognizable artists. She graduated from Qatar University with a BA in Art Education and continued this passion on to her job, where she has been working for Jeem TV and Baraem, for 10 years. During her time there, Kholoud managed to expand her artistic skills and implement them into script writing and directing the animated series created locally in Doha. The series has successfully been on air, since 2015 covering 2 seasons with a total of 26 episodes.
