The fifth annual Qatar British Festival 2018 is a celebration of the long-standing relationship between Qatar and the UK. The Festival includes cultural events, panel discussions, public activities which give audiences the opportunity to experience a series of fun, educational and creative events in culture, sports, education, business and more.

Qatar National UK Alumni Awards Ceremony and Networking Dinner

105+dB, is a sonic artwork made unique for Qatar, about identity, place and participation.  A large-scale sound installation, transplanting the awesome wall of noise and energy captured between Al Rayan and Al Arabi football clubs at The Grand Hamad Stadium.

Come and experience the illusion of being in the middle of a football pitch and live your experience!

Anglo-American Rivalry in the Middle East: Book Talk

British Author, James Barr is a leading historian of the modern Middle East and author of ‘A Line in the Sand’. His new book, ‘Lords of the Desert’, tells the forgotten story of the struggle between Britain and America to dominate the post-war Middle East. James read modern history at Oxford and is a visiting fellow at King’s College London.

Qatar British Festival Closing Concert "British Landscapes"

UK Violinist Savitri Grier will be performing with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra musicians supported by Qatar Chamber Music Society. Come and experience a unique chamber music concert promoting classical British composers such as Vaughan Williams, Rebecca Clarke, and Edward Elgar amongst others.

Ajyal Film Festival

When: 28 November - 03 December 2018 

Where: Katara Cultural Village

Doha Film Institute hosts its annual Ajyal Film Festival at Katara with the support of key partners, including the British Council. The schedule consists of the Ajyal competition films as well as public screenings of family-friendly short and feature-length movies, including fiction, documentaries, animated films, as well a series of works made right here in Qatar. Around 550 young film judges from the UK and around the world descend on Doha to sit on the festival jury and vote on the best films.

Doha singers

Where: Ritz Carlton Hotel

The Doha Singers will be performing a seasonal selection of songs at their concert “Glitz at the Ritz” under their Musical Director Steph Gomaa (Director of Music at Doha College). This will take place on Friday 7 December 2018 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. There will be 2 performances - 4pm and 7.30pm. They will also be joined for part of the performance by singers from Doha College. Please come along to enjoy a variety of seasonal songs both old and new - something for all the family!

Tickets are QR120 for adults (age 12 plus)

QR80 for children (aged 3-11).
