Together enabling inclusion

Under the patronage of H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums. British Council and Sasol, in partnership with Qatar Museums, will host the landmark Definitely Able Conference and ILHAM Art Exhibition.

ILHAM Art Exhibition - 18 till 27 March

The ILHAM Art Exhibition is open to the public and will feature new works by disabled artists from Qatar, Oman and the UK inspired by Islamic culture and heritage. The artists completed a short residency at the Museum of Islamic Art. Their brief encouraged them to ‘fall in love with an object from the collection and respond to it’ through the creation of a number of artworks. The residency encouraged artists to experiment with a broad variety of mediums including photography, video, ceramic, and screen printing.

Definitely Able Conference - 18 and 19 March

The Definitely Able conference welcomed international, regional and local speakers who presented on a range of topics, focussing on accessibility and inclusion for the disabled community in Qatar and around the world. The sessions specifically encouraged debate on areas like employment, accessibility, education and inclusive learning technologies. We’re proud to have Simon Minty hosting the event. Simon is well known for his passion and experience in the field of disability and for using creative techniques to promote accessibility.
