UK violinist Savitri Grier is returning to perform with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, famous pieces by Edward Elgar, Enigma Variations and Violin Concerto.
Edward Elgar, one of the most iconic UK Composers, has composed Enigma Variations which is commenced in a spirit of humour & continued in deep seriousness, contains sketches of the composer's friends. The sketches are not ‘portraits’ but each variation contains a distinct idea founded on some particular personality or perhaps on some incident known only to two people.
The second piece in the concert repertoire will be The Violin concerto performed by the UK Violinist Savitri Grier. The piece was composed for the violinist Fritz Kreisler, who gave the premiere in London in 1910, with the composer conducting.
The concert will be performed by Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Elias Grandy.
