In partnership with European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC), Katara Cultural Village and Welsh Government, British Council will participate in the annual European Jazz Festival by providing a platform to a Welsh band to come to Qatar and deliver. European Jazz Festival is attended by more than 2000 public audience locally and internationally.

Huw Warren : Cowbois and Shepherds 

Huw Warren is an internationally acclaimed award-winning pianist and composer. One of Wales' best known jazz musicians; he has recorded for major European record labels such as ECM and CAM jazz. His highly individual music freely crosses style and genre and combines the deep lyricism of folk music with the sophistication and rhythmic intensity of jazz.

Cowbois and Shepherds is an international project with all the players either based in Wales or having strong links to Wales. The compositions are mainly based on welsh ideas and themes arnd come from different parts of Huw Warren's varied career. Saxophonist Mark lockheart is a long-time collaborator having worked alongside Warren in the groundbreaking UK ensemble Perfect Houseplants as well as many other projects including a recent live duo album recorded live in Italy.
