The festival will run between 20 and 26 November 2023 under the theme of “Sustainability and Communities” through promoting peace and social inclusion for diverse communities endorsing the devolved nations and supporting diversity through various activities including European Jazz Festival, a socially engaged project promoting textile recycling and the power of reinvention, artistic sustainable fashion shows, art workshops, comic workshops, Music shows and awareness workshop around sustainability while engaging the youth, women, girls and different communities and schools in Qatar.

UK Festival 2023 - Artists

Teresa Albor

Teresa Albor is a British American artist, designer, entrepreneur and activist, currently working in London, Doha and Dhaka.

She is a cultural producer who supports the practices of others, collaborates with people who are committed to changing the world for good, and uses social enterprise as one of her tools.

Muna Al Bader

Muna Al-Bader

Known as the "Artist of Blue", Muna is a highly acclaimed Qatari artist whose work is inspired by the captivating beauty of her hometown, Doha. 

With a remarkable talent for capturing the essence of the sea and sky, she skillfully explores the diverse shades of blue, infusing each with its own symbolic significance. She actively advocates for artistic expression and cultural exchange and her journey serves as a powerful testament to the transformative power of pursuing one's passion. 

Julie Tait - LICAF

Julie Tait – Founder Director of LICAF and main collaborator with the MENA region project ‘Ink to Action’ 2023 and 2024. Julie will assist with the creation of the presentational outcomes and document the project gaining feedback from artists, teachers and, as appropriate, the participants themselves.

Hester Harrington - LICAF

Hester is a qualified teacher of 20 years in secondary age, primary age and special school education. She is a print-based artist.

Hester is LICAF’s main education team member and co-created Little LICAF (the free under 12s zone at our festival), devises all of our educational resources and is project co-ordinator on our literacy research project. She is passionate about using comics in the classroom and devising resources that combine artistic and educational experiences.

Noha Habaieb - LICAF

Noha Habaieb is a Tunisian French visual storyteller, living in Doha.

After studying comics in Belguim, she took part in the evolution of the magazine by participating with her original comics, organizing artistic residencies themed around migration, identity and borders and improving the coordination between the group members.

She contributed to several international collective exhibitions of Comics and Illustrations. In 2017, she co-founded “Koskh”, an illustration studio based in Tunisia
