Study in the UK Exhibition as part of the British Festival 2015

Every year, we help hundreds of students make it to a UK university. In 2015, the Education UK exhibition fair was held at the Radisson Blu on March 16 -17. It was a huge success with over one thousand visitors attending over the two days despite the rain and bad weather!

31 institutions from the UK, ranging from language schools through to higher education, were there to answer the student’s questions. There was also a selection of five scholarship providers. We approached some of the students ourselves to find out why they want to study in the UK, what subject they’re interested in and what they’re hoping to get from their degree.

What the students think . . .

“I go to Azure sports academy. I’m a javelin thrower, the number two in the world for my age group. I’m interested in studying engineering design. I’m looking for a scholarship in the UK, I hope the UK will give me the best offer for a scholarship. I’m concerned about my sport, I want to make sure I can continue javelin throwing and training during my studies.” Ahmad,  from Egypt

“I studied in the UK for a year already. I studied business and now I’m working here and I’m also studying here at Community College of Qatar. When I finish my diploma I will go and study media  because I’m currently working in the media actually. I’m expecting to learn about social media, media and marketing and that kind of thing.” Abdullah Al Malik, from Qatar

“I want to do business and maybe also want to do a separate degree, like medicine. I really enjoy biology. I want my degree to bring me happiness and success. I want my degree to help me be the best that I can be, to make me stand out from the crowd. I don’t really want to work for anyone.” Sarah, from Palestine and the UK

I want to study Mechanical Engineering. It’s my passion! I want to invent something, that is my dream. So in order to build things you need to become an engineer. I’ve never been to the UK, but I know you can find a quality education there and I want to go to the best schools. I hope my degree will offer me a great opportunity and salary to start my future.”Yahya, Egypt
