Breabach as part of the British Festival 2015

The Al Rayyan theatre was a fantastic place to play and the crowd were so welcoming and up for it! Breabach

The final event of the British Festival was ‘Scotland Day’ which featured a concert by Breabach and Qatari artist Mohamed Al-Saegh. They performed at the Al Rayyan theatre in Souq Waqif to an enthusiastic audience including Scottish Minister for Europe and International Development, Humza Yousaf. The event aimed to support emerging talent, Breabach and introduce them to a new audience as well as give the musicians the opportunity to learn about each other’s musical styles and instruments. Mohamed Al Saegh played two traditional Gulfi instruments called the tamboura and the sernai.

“The team at the British Council have surpassed all of my and the team at the Scottish Government’s expectations. Every time I am in Qatar, we rely on the British Council for their local insight and contacts.” Humza Yousaf, Minister for Europe and International Development
